Fuchsia has been Google’s big secret up until recently when Bloomberg made a revealing post to give us a look at what we will be expecting. According to the interesting report Google have been working for more than two years with engineers on this project that they planned to replace Android in in the nearest future.
Android is the world most used mobile operating system, the Fuchsia project will have to be very good and impressive to replace android. According to the story, the team behind the project ultimately intends to expand Fuchsia’s reach to all types of connected devices, from handsets to smart home products, computers and beyond.
Fuchsia Road map
Google acknowledged the existence of Fuchsia in 2016 but the road map for Fuchsia to be fully rolled out is not yet known or set. Those familiar with the plans cited by Bloomberg say neither Google CEO Sundar Pichai nor Android chief Hiroshi Lockheimer have formally given their nod to any plan for Fuchsia. However in the background work is stealthily going on in the project.
According to the report Fuchsia now has more than 100 people working on it, including venerated software staff such as Matias Duarte, a design executive who led several pioneering projects at Google and elsewhere. Duarte is only working part-time on the project, said one person familiar with the company.
Despite the lack of official approval, the future is Fuchsia and not Android. In a few years time we will start seeing Fuchsia on some specific devices. Those privy to the project has reveal to Bloomberg that they want to embed Fuchsia on connected home devices, such as voice-controlled speakers, within three years, then move on to larger machines such as laptops.

Why Fuchsia is The Future?
Fuchsia is born as a result of Android’s limitation and the direction that Google is going as a company. This time unlike Android which was patched and modify from Linux Kernel and other open source software , Fuchsia is built from the ground up to overcome the limitations of Android as more personal devices and other gadgets come online.
It has being designed to better accommodate voice interactions and frequent security updates and to look the same across a range of devices, from laptops to tiny internet-connected sensors. Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai has set his company in the direction toward artificial intelligence services that reach consumers everywhere. Yet its prime operating systems, which depend on scores of hardware partners, haven’t kept up.
