Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

All About Google’s Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL

Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL are two amazing smartphone that you will love to have. The phones are coming with the high quality that is expected of a phone by Google. The two devices come with identical specs. The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are both equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670, while this may look like a chipset for a mid range phone the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 is very strong and fast. Both also come with 4GB of RAM and  a massive 64GB of storage space. With this specs along with the usual Google optimization, you can expect a great performance. Now let’s look at this phone more closely.

Pixel 3a and 3a XL  Body and Design

Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL

The design is not as catchy as it was expected. Google have refuse to be trendy. Other major phone makers are going for water drop notches, or under-screen camera .Google sticks to dated and thick edges around the display. When it does try to modernize, you end up with something like the Pixel 3 XL, with its controversial and ugly notches and hole-punch camera displays.

The Pixel 3a and 3a XL are essentially carbon-copies of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL — for the 3a XL. The main difference is in build materials. The body of the Pixel 3a phones is made of polycarbonate,  unlike the all-glass Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The polycarbonate body is the first hint of the cost-cutting measures Google has taken to shrink the Pixel 3’s flagship price down to midrange levels.

There is a glass protecting the screen is Dragon Trail, which is made by Asahi. That’s opposed to the more commonly-used Gorilla Glass series from Corning. In addition to the cheaper build materials, the Pixel 3’s IP68 water-resistance is gone, replaced by simple splash and dust resistance.

The Pixel 3a has a 5.6-inch OLED screen with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, running a Full HD+ resolution (2,280 x 1,080). The Pixel 3a XL has a 6-inch gOLED screen, with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and a slightly lower Full HD+ resolution at 2,160 x 1,080. They’re still OLED screens, so you should be getting strong colors and deep blacks, but the resolution isn’t as sharp as the flagship Pixel 3 phones.

The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are both equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 like we said earlier.

The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL run Android 9 Pie, but they will get the Android Q update when it releases in August. It’s important to remember that most phones under $500 simply don’t receive more than one Android version update, short of Android One phones such as the Nokia 7.1.

Both phones also come with 4GB of RAM. You are assured of smooth performance even if your are multitasking.

Camera and Battery

We all can agree that Google are up there as far as camera is concern but lets talk about the battery for now.

Battery size has seen a boost, it is as if Google want to make a statement here. The standard Pixel 3a boasts a 3,000mAh battery, while the larger Pixel 3a XL sports a 3,700mAh battery. That’s the largest battery we’ve ever seen in a Pixel phone, and paired with less powerful specs, it’s likely the Pixel 3a phones will impress with battery life.

The camera has historically been one of the Pixel range’s strongest areas, and you might imagine the Pixel 3a range’s camera has been dialed back to accommodate the lower-price. Well, you’d be completely wrong. You’ll find the same 12.2-megapixel lens with optical and electronic image stabilization with an f/1.8 aperture on both the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL, matching the hardware found on the Pixel 3.

  1. I have always confused about these Google mobile. As you can see Google is a very big company, then still why their phone features is low. Like the Battery is only 3000mah, and the camera is 12MP. However look other brands, they have good features mobile phones plus their price is low as well.
So I guess Google needs to solve this kinda issues.
