If the WhatsApp on your phone have stop working since 1st January 2020, then you are suffering from the WhatsApp block. The new chat ban comes into force immediately and many are not aware. Last year we informed our readers that WhatsApp will no longer work on some devices.
In this article we list all of the devices and why they will no longer have WhatsApp come 2020.
The Big WhatsApp block
The big change took place in midnight time on December 31 and it affected everyone using a Windows phone with these devices losing all WhatsApp support from that date.
This latest news follows on from similar bans that affected those owning certain Nokia and Blackberry devices with support already ending for these phones.
If you own a Windows phone you’ll now need to buy something new to continue chatting on WhatsApp in 2020 but these aren’t the only smartphones facing a block next year.
It doesn’t stop there, the ban will extend to older version of Android iOS and the phones running on them. Same could be said of Apple iPhones, it will also be hit by a WhatsApp block.
In fact, anyone with an Android phone running anything older than version 2.3.7 will no longer be able to use the app and the same goes for iPhones with iOS 7 or older installed.
